United Way of Northwest Michigan, in partnership with the Detroit Lions is giving away two scholarships to the Detroit Lions Football Camp, to be held here in Traverse City. The camp will run from 8:30am to noon June 28 – July 1 at Traverse City West Junior High.
The Lions Youth Football Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-14, kids will be grouped based on age and skill level. The Camp is non contact and designed to improve, beginning, intermediate, or advanced skill levels. Fundamentals of all positions on offense, defense and special teams will be taught, in addition to life skills such as teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and the importance of education.
Winning one of the scholarships is easy, simply drop off any non-perishable food item(s) to the offices of United Way of Northwest Michigan, 521 S Union Street, and you can fill out a registration form and be entered to win. The food drive and registration will begin Monday June 7 and run through Friday June 11. Our offices are open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and food items can be dropped off at any point during those hours. The winners will be drawn and notified on Monday June 14 (need not be present to win).
